Developed by the native Space Boat studio, a sandboxing MMO game, one of the popular survival simulation genres. In the game, you play as a castaway who goes to one of the islands of an unknown archipelago, and his main goal is to survive and satisfy basic life needs. The production is characterized by the role-modeling system modeled on RPG and simple to master the crafting system, thanks to which we can create both simple objects and advanced buildings with equal ease.
Out of Reach is a first-person MMO game with elements of RPG, part of the popular trend of survival sandboks. The creation of the Space Sea development studio is responsible for the creation of the title, and its production was supported by a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo website. The authors have limited themselves to the modest background of the feature, focusing their efforts on the game combining the best features of the production of this genre released so far. In the game, you play the role of a castaway who goes to one of the islands of an unknown archipelago, and what will happen later depends only on us. As in most similar games, one of the most important elements of the game is the survival aspect. As deprived of all the goods of castaways, we must choose wisely the place that will become our new home, and then take care of basic life needs, such as hunger or clothing. Exploring the open world filled with meadows, deserts, forests and caves, we come across many species of wild animals that perfectly fulfill the role of food. However, this is not all. It is also necessary to constantly search for raw materials such as wood, stone or flax. Thanks to this, using special workshops, we can create basic tools, weapons, armor and other items. Interestingly, in the course of the game, we can also improve them, which significantly affects the parameters of the objects themselves as well as the characters carrying them. The crafting system has been implemented in a very accessible form, so it is easy to create both simple objects and powerful fortresses that will serve to defend against possible enemies. A completely new element is the possibility of constructing advanced siege machines, such as trebuchets, ballista or battering rams. Each of them can be handled by hand, using it to defend the occupied terrain or to attack the enemy encampment. The main intention of the creators was to create a huge, constantly changing world in which thousands of players connected by a common goal will live simultaneously. However, the gamers were left to decide whether they would like to act alone or in cooperation with other survivors, build a community looking for allies or attacking, trying to level the other players' fortresses. The players will also determine how they will shape the abilities of their heroes. The character development system used in the game is modeled on RPG productions, and how proficient will we become, for example, in obtaining raw materials, hunting or killing depends on our determination and the time we devote to a given skill. Character development in a specific direction will allow us to use completely new skills, both active (eg "charge" that allows you to completely change the style of combat) and passive (eg "trapper" - thanks to which our skills of moving in the wilds will increase). Although the popular and relatively simple Unita engine was used to create the game, the creators managed to achieve a high level of graphic design. The game world is suggestive, detailed and really lives its own life, and the fun is enhanced by the refined and extremely intuitive user interface. Unlike many similar productions, distributed in the free-to-play system, Out of Reach is a fully commercial title. After the purchase of the game, we can therefore play without restrictions and incur any additional charges.
