An exploration adventure game in which we play as Tyler, a young man struggling with guilt. His wife's music career was in ruins, and he is in no way able to help her. The hero escapes into the world of memories, re-living the most important moments of his life.
Anamorphine is an exploratory adventure game developed by the independent Artifact 5 studio. The title was released, among others, for the Windows PC platform.
In Anamorphine, the player plays Tyler - a young man whose wife Elena fell victim to an accident, which made her cellist career fall into ruin. The blameless protagonist escapes into the world of memories, reliving the most important moments of their life together - with time, however, even gradually, he is affected by the effects of his deteriorating mental state, compounded by the inability to help his depressed beloved.
In the Anamorphine PC platform released on the Windows platform, we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). The main and in principle the only element of the game is exploration - we do not have the opportunity to collect items or talk. During the game, we visit, among other things, the littered apartment of Tyler and Elena or the concert hall, where the artist once performed; all locations with time become more and more surrealistic, which reflects the deteriorating state of the protagonist's psyche. Interestingly, the story told in the game is passed without words - the authors have limited themselves only to the full symbolic images and sounds.
Anamorphine can boast of a decent graphic design (the dreamy world of the game attracts attention through its original stylistics) and an ear-ringing soundtrack that effectively builds the suggestive climate that accompanies the journey. The title uses virtual reality goggles, although they are not required for play.
